Adult Faith Formation

Faith in life is a journey.  Many of us begin this journey as infants when we are baptized and for some it may start much later in life.  Like any other journey we need to take steps to prepare ourselves for what lies ahead.  We need to set a course of action or make plans, malady prepare for different possibilities and challenges we may face along the way and educate ourselves to the best of our abilities.  Once we are baptized, adiposity we are called to grow and mature in our faith just as we would in any other area of our life; put another way, we are called to be formed in our faith and catechized.

For some of us, the words “faith formation” and “catechesis” might seem foreign, scary or like something from the past. Many baptized Catholics know very little about their Catholic faith and yet are still yearning for an authentic and loving relationship with God.  For Branches of the Word (BOTW), we seek to re-engage those in search of rediscovering what it truly means to be Catholic or those who have never been exposed to the faith and want to learn more.  This is done through providing programs, events and personal faith-sharing encounters that go beyond an intellectual approach to learning about the Catholic faith to ones that are meaningful and relevant; ones that tangibly help people to experience something that nurtures their faith no matter what stage they are at on their journey.

For this purpose, our team is dedicated to bringing our adult faith formation programs to wherever we are invited and guided by the Holy Spirit.  As part of the New Evangelization and in response to the call of our Holy Father, Pope Francis, BOTW purposefully sets out to create possibilities that will spark excitement and renewed conversion for the baptized while teaching about our Catholic faith in every possible context of modern culture.

“All the baptized, whatever their position in the Church or their level of instruction in the faith, are agents of evangelization, and it would be insufficient to envisage a plan of evangelization to be carried out by professionals while the rest of the faithful would simply be passive recipients. The new evangelization calls for personal involvement on the part of each of the baptized. Every Christian is challenged, here and now, to be actively engaged in evangelization; indeed, anyone who has truly experienced God’s saving love does not need much time or lengthy training to go out and proclaim that love.   So what are we waiting for?”
